Three Interesting Places to Socialize in Metaverse
Have you ever imagined what your social life would be like in a universe divided into tiny parcels? “A sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic.” Says Arthur C. Clarke. Social life in Metaverse is beyond magic.
When it comes to social life in Metaverse, we may think of activities such as meeting with a few friends, sitting in a cafe, taking a walk in the park or walking around the city center by bike. In a way yes, these are activities you can do in the meta universe. However, remember that the meta universe is much more than you can imagine. Let’s see together.
JUNE 6, 1944
I feel surprised when you read the history I gave above. On June 6, 1944, there was no computer, let alone the meta universe. So, what do you think might be the reason why I chose this date? I want to say. This date is the history of the operations called “Normandy Landing” or “D-Day”, which was the turning point of the Second World War, and which Allied forces carried out against Nazi Germany in June and September 1944. In the meta universe, you can join these operations with your friends or family, and fight alongside the allied states against Nazi Germany. You can also choose Nazi Germany instead of the allied states. As the qualities of the tools and equipment we use to connect to the meta universe increase, the more realistic the events and phenomena we will experience will be. For example, you will be able to experience the sounds of exploding bombs, the feel of the surface you step on, the smell of gunpowder and many more. I believe that such organizations will make a great contribution to virtual socialization. In addition, everyone who is studying at primary school, high school and university and who wants to experience individually will be able to “access” this event.
APRIL 26, 1986
This date may seem a bit far-fetched to my younger readers, but my middle-aged readers will know what I mean. The date of April 26, 1986 is the history of a region whose name we hear frequently these days. I’m talking about the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant. Unfortunately, the power plant exploded at 01:23:40 on the night of April 26, 1986. I want you to think you can see this world-changing event in the meta universe. “I couldn’t figure out its relevance to social life.” You can say. In fact, if you look at it, Chernobyl will be one of the most socializing topics. Because, apart from you reading these lines, citizens of many countries such as the Americans, Indonesians, and Chinese want to learn about this event that has affected the world and will last for years. When I visited Chernobyl, I met people from Canada, Hong Kong, Japan and Russia at the same time (in reality). I even had the chance to chat with people from different nationalities when we ate at the same table. In short, I think that the place or time of socialization does not matter.
SEPTEMBER 11, 2001
It is the date of an event that still lives in our minds and frightens not only a country but the world, September 11, 2001. I was quite young when the World Trade Center was attacked, but I still cannot forget the live footage broadcast by news centers like CNN. Would you like the same event to be repeated in the meta universe? Frankly, I want. This is a different socialization area for me. Please don’t be casual. We can all socialize at the cafe, the cinema, the theater or the ballet show. The point I want to draw attention to is socializing in places where disasters occur. Because in real life, you can’t expect people to act consciously when passenger planes crash into a skyscraper. Everyone panics, and the probability of making a mistake increases tremendously with fear. If a similar simulation is made in the meta universe, the importance of how to act in a terrorist event can be taught with visual elements and awareness can be raised even in the virtual environment.
When you first read the concept of socialization, which I mentioned in the title, you probably thought of friendship relations or family ties. It is an indisputable fact that you are right about this. However, the meta universe isn’t limited to just that. It is much more than that. The three examples I have given are only a small fraction of the examples we encounter in real life. In addition to these examples, the global epidemic of coronavirus, the opening of the Turkish Grand National Assembly, the Japan Earthquake in 2011, etc. We can see many events in the meta universe. You can see not only events, but also natural disasters such as earthquakes, floods, fires and human disasters; We can have knowledge and awareness about how we should behave. Virtual image with real events; especially in the meta universe, it will add great value to the person.

We make inferences about some events we encounter in our daily lives. Actions such as meet…
